El Salvador Divers also offer Emergency First Response training for divers and non divers. The Emergency First Response primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) courses follow the emergency conciderations and protocols as developed by the members of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). It is conducted by our team of instructors led Mick O’Connor and gives the lay, non-medical, person the ‘Confidence to Care’. The EFR Primary and Secondary care course is a prerequisite for becoming a PADI Rescue Diver.

EFR Primary and Secondary Care

This combined course gives the basic training necessary to have the ‘Confidence to Care’. It shows how to administer potential life saving CPR as well as First Aid. The course makes learning easy by providing a non stressful environment in which participants practice and apply emergency care skills.

The course consists of three parts, Knowledge Development, Skill Development and Scenario Practice.

Emergency Oxygen provider

This course again can be done as a stand alone course or can be combined with any other EFR course.

It will teach you how to administer emergency oxygen to a patient in need. It covers help for non-responsive victims to assisting recovering patients who are awaiting the arrival of an ambulance.

CALL 911

  • All courses assume that there is an Emergency Medical Service available to take over the patient care once they arrive on site.
  • The EFR courses are designed to be a lay person’s guide to helping someone in medical trouble, NOT to take the place of trained medical personnel.
